As well as routine operations such as neutering and dentals, we are able to provide more advanced treatments for your pet without having to be referred to a specialist centre.

James has a Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons postgraduate qualification in surgery.

This means we can perform full investigations into your pet's illness and then provide the complete treatment at our own practice at Dore & Totley.

For example:

Large lumps that have grown rapidly on your pets body often require major surgery.   We can employ advanced surgical techniques to remove these lumps effectively and then move skin from elsewhere on the body to help the wounds heal more quickly and keep your pet with a full body of hair!

Where necessary we are also able to follow up tumour removal with targeted courses of chemotherapy.

If your pet is unfortunate enough to suffer an accident and break a leg we can fix it with the help of our new digital X-ray system to show the fracture, and then our extensive range of orthopaedic equipment and expertise to put it back together again.

General stiffness and arthritis in older pets is very common and there are many ways in which we can help keep them comfortable.   X-rays may show the source of the pain and pain-killing drugs may be needed but often supplements and supportive drugs, which are kinder on the body are enough.
